Valloire is an authentic traditional village at
the foot of the Galibier Pass, in the north Alps. It's both a charming
village with in the Baroque Style Church (XVIIth century), its 17 hamlets,
16 chapels, and an International ski resort linked with Valmeinier.
The ski resort opens from December till the end of April.
Valloire offers great ski possibilities and is linked with the resort
of Valmeinier.
Valloire is a traditional and international resort : 150
kms of slopes on 8 sides - 80 runs - 380 snow canons.
For snowboarders : half pipe and modul contest.
Specially prepared slopes for cross country skiing - 34
ski lifts - enabling rapid access to the skiing domain - sledge rides
pulled by huskies and, breath taking excursions using snow shoes.

Excursions in snowshoes
Discovered mountain environnement, the old hamlets (architecture, traditional
life …), the forest and its underwood, wild fauna (chamois, roe-deers,
deers…), traces and prints, nivology, surrounding mountain tops…
Cross country slopes
There are loops of all levels of 2,3,5,12 and 20 Kms. On the plateau of Les Verneys,
the tracks are appropriated to the initial skiers perfectly.
